Monday, I found out I’m medically “obese.” I’m not a big fan of that word. Really. Not a big fan. I don’t look obese, so I’m working to get down to an acceptable body weight so I know longer have that label. I’m sticking to the rules of my fitness challenge, following my meal plan, and keeping up with my sessions and cardio.
The Heat Running app is a great tool to help me keep on track. This is a free app that you can download straight to your iPhone. It allows you to compete with other runners all over the world who are using the app. It’s awesome because the best way to push yourself is to compete.
The app was developed by this awesome guy named Arya. He lost over 200 pounds and now his whole passion is to help others succeed with their weight loss, so he created this motivating app. Check out his story here.
The app is super easy to use. You just create your account and select your race. There are several options available to you including the 400 meter, 1 mile, the 5k, the 10k, 10 mile, and the half marathon. You compete with other people that have also completed that race.
You start out as an egg, then as you complete races you climb up the food chain and become other animals. I’m pretty sure my spirit animal three-toed sloth, but you have the option to become a coyote or a cheetah or a Molly if you’re faster.
This app is awesome because it definitely pushes you to be a better runner. Your time from one race to the next will be faster. This app motivates you to push forward and continue moving up the chain. It’s really awesome.
So download the app! It’s available on the iTunes app store. You can also follow Heat Running on social media Twitter | Facebook | Instagram.
What apps do you love to help with your running?
This sounds like a neat app, but I just want to say that I think it is INSANE that you are considered obese. It seems like maybe we need to redefine these standards. I mean, seriously, if you're obese, then we all must be. This is so crazy to me.
This app sounds awesome, I'll have to download it when I train for my next 5k 🙂
