I love Friends. It is my all time favorite TV show. I’ve seen every episode approximately ten million times. So let’s combine my two favorite things, Friends and Christmas, shall we? What if the Friends characters were traditional Christmas Dishes…
Could you BE anymore excited for this post?
Monica – Monica is the turkey. She is kind of the center piece of the group because she demands attention. She is loud, competitive and always the hostess. Oh and she put one on her head.
Rachel – Rachel is the sweet potato casserole. She is sweet, caring, and even if she is kind of a mess, loses Monica’s stuff, and her marshmallows aren’t in concentric circles, she really ties the whole group (ahem meal) together.
Ross – Ross is the mashed potatoes with lumps. He is Rachel’s polar opposite…still potatoes, but totally different. Ross’s life, just like his favorite dish, is full of lumps –3 divorces, a mandatory sabbatical, a bad spray tan, white teeth, a student affair, and a lumpy headed child are just the tip of the iceberg.
Chandler – Chandler is the rolls of the meal. Strong, steady, and my personal favorite. He’s there to soak up the mess of the group with a snappy comeback or ridiculously lovely monologue that will make you cry.
Joey – Joey is the trifle because he has all of these layers. And obviously because he is the only one who will eat it. “He’s a man of the club, but he still has feelings.” Joey is sweet and sensitive, yet kind of a player. He is loyal friend, soap actor star, Ken Adams, you name it. I could go on but it’s really a “moo point.”
Phoebe – Phoebe is the bag of Doritos someone brings when they forget to make a dish. She is the random add-on that is totally worth breaking into Monica’s apartment and calling it an emergency. Phoebe’s a great friend who spices up the group with her crazy personality and surprising plot twists. She is the delicious treat you never knew you wanted at Christmas Dinner.
Janice – Janice is the fruit cake. The dish that is always there, never wanted and always full of terrible, unexpected surprises. i.e. “Janice in labor…contracting and everything.”
Gunther – Gunther is the ice. The thing you always need and never remember. Azeholes.
There you have it. Merry Christmas you filthy Holiday Armadillo.
