It’s no secret I love living in Atlanta. The people, the food, the traffic. Ok, I was just kidding on that last one. I really do love living here though. Food is easily accessible here. We have food truck festivals, awesome restaurants on every corner and even random carts of deliciousness at gas station corners (here’s looking at you King of Pops).
So through these different venues, I’ve been able to sample lots of sweet treats. My favorites are definitely the ones you can find multiple places and multiple times. The ones I can eat in Virginia Highlands, Decatur, and Midtown.
King of Pops
Basically you can find these awesome pops almost any place, anytime. Which is perfect because they’re incredibly good. They’re made with real ingredients and frozen with an awesome center. For example, cookies and cream has actual cookies. Key lime pie has a graham cracker center. You get the point. These pops are $3 and sold in many retail locations, festivals, games, and yes…even gas station corners.
SnoBayou SnoBalls
These are a little less rare, but this truck tends to show up when you least expect it but definitely want it. They’re magic like that. You can read more about them on this post.
Da Vinci’s Donuts
I discovered Da Vinci’s Donuts at the Best of Atlanta party a few months ago. These babies are in Sandy Springs and Alpharetta. They’re little so you don’t feel AS guilty. They have awesome flavors including the two pictured here: sea salt caramel and maple syrup bacon. The doughy insides just melt in your mouth and they are so sweet and sticky on the top. They’re so good..
Honeysuckle Gelato
Another Best of Atlanta Party gem and my all-time favorite. This is southern style gelato. It’s creamy delicious goodness that tastes like Italian gelato with a twist. I’m so pumped because they are opening their first store in Ponce City Market in September. I’m moving super duper close to the Market this month and CAN’T WAIT! Right now they are sold in retail locations and randomly at events. It’s so good. They even use their filling as the inside of an ice cream sandwich. Heaven.
So there you go. If you’re visiting Atlanta anytime soon, these are some of the treats you have to seek out.
What’s your favorite local city treat?
Oh wow! I will take two of everything, please! Haha it all looks so delicious!
Yum!! These all look delicious 🙂
Do they sell those popsicles at the Braves games? I had a chocolate and sea salt one and it was delicious!
This is getting me SO excited for my next Atlanta trip to visit my parents!!! Thank you for sharing these places, I can't wait to try some, if not all, of them;-) Great, now I need dessert, haha! Yum!!

*I'd like
I have heard about King of Pops so often since I started blogging. When I finally make it down to Atlanta they are a MUST on my list.
I'm obsessed with Ponce City Market/General Assembly, so that Honeysuckle Gelato makes me so excited. Also – I just had my very first King of Pop two days ago and am definitely hooked. I had no idea about the key lime/cookies and cream flavors though! Yum! … and those donuts. Ummm I really wish you wouldn;t have told me that… #weightgain
Thanks for sharing all of these! Will definitely be trying them (all)!
