It’s in the Details…

Overall, wedding planning is going well. Things are falling into place pretty easily. Once you get the main things decided, the details are exactly that. Details. The details are fun, but sometimes get overwhelming and make you do and say crazy things…

For example, I have no idea what I am walking down the aisle to, so I spent a large portion of last week convincing my family that a piano version of Trap Queen was the answer. They did not agree.
I bought some beautiful wedding shoes on Amazon Prime (we all know how much I love Amazon Prime), and when they arrived I took them out of the box and started bawling. OVER. SHOES. They’re just shoes. Yes, they’re pretty, but I bought them on Amazon Prime and literally no one will ever see them. I don’t know how to human sometimes.
Engagement photos are beautiful, really stunning, until I am the focus… I am an awkward human being and cannot do sweet smiles. My little sister says I need to work on “smizing.” Remember on America’s Next Top Model, when Tyra said her models needed to “smize” aka smile with their eyes? Yeah, I can’t do that. I need all the teeth. Exhibit A.

Ok back to the craziness of details. Registering was really fun. I mentioned that I was fired from registering because all I wanted was a Margaritaville Blender and a Roomba Vacuum. I eventually was allowed to participate again, but by the end of the day, I got lazy and just found a whole bed I liked and registered for everything on it. We may have some crazy things that I just “decided” we needed on the way out of the store like a Vidalia Chop Wizard…

Speaking of registering, did you know you need at least eight sets of flatware? Just because you have four chairs at your table, doesn’t mean you register for four sets of flatware. If you think that is correct DO NOT tell anyone because they will get real sassy with you real quick. Just register for 10-12 and make everyone happy.That’s all I got for now. Wedding planning is awesome but heightens your emotions a little bit. I’m kind of a walking basket case all the time and the most harmless comments will totally set me off. I probably just need another cake tasting to get over it. I’m looking forward to that part the most…

  1. I love your honesty. I got married this past September and once I stopped listening to other people's opinions I was MUCH happier. Believe me, I cried too many tears and once my now husband and I talked about it-it's our day and we are gonna do things how we want…it all went smoother. I would love to see you walk down the aisle to Trap Queen, please record it! Also, registering…HA- we put Nerf guns on ours because who needs China?! LOL. Try to enjoy this…it only happens once (well not always, but you get what I'm saying-right?) Also- your pictures are stunning…seriously beautiful! Take a deep breath, and one thing at a time. It's all worth it in the end!

  2. I wore shoes I had already for that reason: no one was going to see my shoes! My grandma couldn't believe I didn't register a china or crystal pattern or flatware pattern. Between my side of the family and my MIL, I have 20 sets of dishes coming my way, and all the other stuff that comes with that.

  3. That photo is beautiful! I can't wait to see more from your shoot! Registering seems pretty exciting! Too funny about the flatware though, haha.
