Baby Registry: What I’m Purchasing For Baby Number 2

I’m officially in the third trimester of pregnancy which is SO crazy! I can’t believe it and also feel like it’s taking forever. I’m so excited to meet our new little one. Since we are having another boy, we don’t need much for baby number 2. We saved everything from Ben, so once we go through it all, we should be in pretty good shape in terms of things we need for the baby. Also, Ben will turn 3 right before this one is born, so we are moving him to a big boy room. Essentially, our nursery is done because the new baby will move into the nursery.

So with that being said, we do need a few things for the new baby. We are mostly refreshing and updating some well-loved items from Ben. So today, I’m breaking down what I’m buying for Baby Boy number 2!

What I’m Buying for Baby #2

Feeding

Dr. Brown’s 4 oz Bottles – I exclusively pumped with Ben for 18 months. We replaced the bottles a few times during that span, so once we were done breastfeeding, we threw them away. So baby is getting new bottles. Originally with Ben we just used the 8 oz bottles and quickly realized we needed some 4 oz too. So we are getting both the 4 oz bottles of Dr. Brown’s bottles and the 8 oz bottles. Hopefully, the new baby likes them as much as Ben did because we really did notice a difference in terms of spit-up.

Dr. Brown’s Bottle Warmer – After 18 months of bottle feeding, we also threw away the bottle warmer. It uses water and steam to warm the bottle which means it needs cleaning a lot. After how often we cleaned it, we decided just to get a new one for baby #2. This is a slightly different version than our original. It doesn’t look like they make the one we used three years ago with Ben.

Dr. Brown’s Bottle Brushes – Again, we go through these pretty regularly and still use them to clean Ben’s cups now. So we are buying a new round of these bottle brushes as well.

Spectra S2 – I loved my Spectra S2 while pumping with Ben. I qualified for a new one through insurance. While my original is still working, I decided to get another one in case something happens to the first. Feels good to have two to also take one to the office if I want.

Sleeping

Monitor – With two kids, we need two monitors. We still want to have one in Ben’s room, so we are purchasing another for baby’s room.

Sleep sacks – Ben was a super drooly baby so all sleep sacks needed replacing. Here are the ones we are looking at: 0-6 months | 6-12 months | 12-18 months | 18-24 months

Swaddles – Ben also hated a swaddle, but he was drooly so when he did wear them, they were covered in his drool. So we are replacing these too.

Hatch – Ben uses his hatch every night, so we need a second one for the baby’s room.

General

Counter sterilizer – we ran our first sterilizer so often, it died. So we are purchasing a new one! We ran EVERYTHING through this after we washed it, so we will definitely be using this again.

Bibs – again, Ben was a drooly, messy baby. So we are refreshing bibs.

Burp cloths – we still use these cloths for everything. We have at least one on us at all times. Since we use them so often with Ben over the past three years, we figured baby needed his own set.

Diaper bag – our diaper bag broke after almost three years, so we are getting a new one to incorporate both boys’ things. This one was voted the best backpack diaper bag in 2024. We like having a backpack diaper bag, so we are rolling with it.

That’s really it for now! We don’t need a lot. We are very lucky and had generous friends and family the first time around, so we don’t need to purchase much. We are so excited to meet our new addition!
