I made this fall simmer pot this weekend while I was working on some fall content and oh my gosh y’all it smells amazing! My mom used to put cloves in oranges during the fall and they were just part of our decor. They smelled so good so I kind of ran with that thought to create this simmer pot. Keep reading to see what I used. Seriously, this is a must-do while you are cooking Thanksgiving dinner before your guests come over. Or even just like we did this weekend to put you in the fall spirit.
How to make a fall simmer pot
What I put in my simmer pot
-Apples
-Oranges
-Whole cloves
-3 Cinnamon sticks (I wouldn’t do any more than this)
-Sprigs of rosemary
-A splash of apple cider
How to make a fall simmer pot
-Place thinly sliced apples and oranges in the base of the pot
-Add whole cloves. I just sprinkled some in and measured with my heart
-Drop in a few sprigs of rosemary and 2-3 cinnamon sticks
-Add a splash of apple cider
-I would have also added a capful of vanilla extract but we were out
-Fill with water until it just covers the ingredients
-Simmer on low and use a wooden spoon to gently stir periodically to release more scents from the ingredients.
