How to make Easy Creamy Mashed Potatoes
-Shredded cheddar cheese
-Cut potatoes into small cubes. You can leave the skin on or peel it off. Either way is fine and a personal preference. It’s faster to leave it on.
-Place the potatoes in a pot and cover them with water. The water should be about an inch above the potatoes.
-Boil the potatoes for 15 minutes. If you can pierce them with a fork, you’re good to go.
-Drain the water and place the potatoes in a mixing bowl.
-Using a potato masher, mash the potatoes for 2 minutes.
-Add sour cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder and softened butter. Continue to mash the potatoes until they are a creamy consistency.
-Place the potatoes in a serving bowl and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
