Mommy-and-Me Halloween Costume: Ferdinand the Bull and his mother

We read Ferdinand the Bull at least once a day (usually more). This book is a favorite in our house. So naturally, we had to make one of our Halloween costumes a tribute to Ferdinand.

Now in the book, there is mention of his “understanding mother even though she is a cow.” And it infuriates me every time. She can be an understanding mother without the disclaimer. So justice for Ferdinand’s mom the cow.

In this post, I’m sharing our Ferdinand the Bull and his “Understanding Mother” costumes.

Ben is so stinkin’ cute as Ferdinand. I didn’t realize Ferdinand was also a movie. Someone pointed this out to me after I posted the video. Ferdinand was apparently a movie in 2019 and this costume is from that movie. I had no idea. I just thought it was a cute bull costume. So in my head, this costume is from the book.

For my “understanding mother” costume I found this cute cow-print dress and put it over a black bodysuit. Then I found this accessory kit with ears and a tail. The tail just clips on to the back of your dress. So it’s very easy to use.
