It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Halloween is coming and I am sharing 61 days of Halloween ideas on Instagram, TikTok and my blog. My favorite part of the Halloween posts are my mom-and-me Halloween costumes.
Last year I shared 10 mom-and-me Halloween costumes with my sweet little baby. They were a hit and so much fun to put together, so this year I decided to go bigger and better. I have 31 costumes coming your way! I took a poll on Instagram and asked if you guys wanted to see a month of party planning and then a month of costumes or all mixed together. The latter won, so we will be spreading out the 31 costumes in an “every-other fashion.” So we are kicking off the 61 days with costume number 1!
These costumes are especially great for boy moms! I have ideas for everyone, but I have noticed it is sometimes harder to come up with boy mom costumes that aren’t typically couples costumes. So if you are a boy mom, you will definitely like this series! But girl moms, stick around because there are plenty of ideas for you too!
For reference, Ben is 17 months old currently. We did, however, start shooting these costumes in May so he will age a little bit throughout the costume series.
DIDI AND TOMMY PICKLES FROM RUGRATS HALLOWEEN COSTUME
I had to start the month out with one of my favorites. (I love them all though. Ben is so stinking cute in Halloween costumes.) This one is a little more complicated than some of the others, but pretty not so complicated that you can’t do it.

To make the wig, I purchased this wig from Amazon and then three mini styrofoam cones from Michaels. These are similar if you want to order online. First I put the wig on my head and placed the first cone on top. I pulled the hair up and around the cone and secured it with an elastic. Then I did each of the sides. If you are going to be going out of a long night, you can gel or hot glue the wig, but if it’s a more low-key atmosphere, elastics work fine.
Then I purchased this dress, these glasses and this necklace and earrings to complete my Didi look. Ben was Tommy Pickles and while my costume was a little more complicated, his was the easiest of the batch. I just bought this blue t-shirt and he wore his diaper. Boom. Done.
First costume down! Be sure to follow along on Instagram and TikTok for all of the Halloween fun and the reels we have put together. You can see these costumes in action on my social media. I also have a tab at the top of my blog that shares all of my Halloween posts.
