Black-Tie Optional Wedding Guest Dresses under $100
But first, let’s start with the question, “What do you wear to a black-tie optional wedding?”
A black-tie optional dress code is actually one of the more complicated dress codes in my opinion. Both “black-tie optional” and “cocktail attire” have some blurry lines for me. We can focus on cocktail attire another day though.
Black-tie optional means you need to dress more formally than you would to a cocktail or casual wedding, but not quite as formal as a strictly black-tie event. Black-tie optional really applies to the men. It means they can wear a tux if they want to, but they don’t have to.
For women, black-tie optional means wearing a full-length or mid-length dress. You can also choose to be as fancy as you want here. The main thing to note is the length of your dress and not coming in anything too short. I wear a full-length dress to both black-tie and black-tie optional events and have never had a problem.

Let’s dive into some affordable black-tie optional wedding guest dresses.
One-Shoulder Asymmetrical Dress – This dress is $49 and so unique and pretty. I love the asymmetrical neckline. This dress comes in a couple different colors and is sure to turn heads.
Feather neck dress – This dress is gorgeous! It has feathers on the neck and the sleeves. It’s only $70 and looks much more expensive than it is. It also comes in several different colors, but I like the black.
Rouched trumpet dress – This dress is so slimming and flattering. It is a great simple dress, that hugs your curves in all the right places. It is $54 and perfect for a black-tie optional wedding or gala.
Cowl Neck Dress – This cowl neck mermaid dress is gorgeous. I love the shape of this dress. It comes in several colors as well and is $68!
Off-the-shoulder zipper dress – This is the dress I am wearing above. It is such a pretty metallic fabric. The zipper on the slit is adjustable so you can wear it as high or as low as you wish. It is $57 and feels much more expensive than it is.
