It’s time for another Saturday Morning Coffee Talk! Grab your coffee and let’s chat. I’m rounding up all of the highlights from our week in this post.
This week started off on a weird foot. Ben started the week with another ear infection. We went to the pediatrician Monday morning and he started antibiotics. Luckily, after 24 hours he can go back to daycare so he was back on Tuesday and feeling much better.
The rest of our week has been pretty routine. I’m excited to share some of my new purchases next week in my blog posts, but you can go ahead and get a sneak peek here!
What I Bought
I ordered a few new things from Express that should be here before the weekend! I’m excited to share those with y’all next week. I purchased this black top for work, this cute dress and this white sweater.
I also ordered a few pieces from Amazon. This sweater dress, this tennis skirt, these shorts, this ruffle sweater, this teddy bear jacket and this plaid shacket. I’m excited to style and share these pieces next week!
I also made a large order from the Red Dress Boutique warehouse sale. I am SO excited for those pieces to come in.

What I Watched
I finished “And Just Like That.” The season finale was Thursday and I actually liked the show. It had some problems like everyone said, but I still watched all ten episodes and overall liked it. I’m happy SJP is back on my screen.
I watched the Opening Ceremonies last night and am so excited for the Winter Olympics. Honestly, I will probably take this section out of next week’s coffee talk because I will be watching the Olympics all week.
We watched “Reminiscence” on HBO Max. It was a lot to unpack there for a while, but Stephen and I both agreed it was nice to watch a movie that wasn’t a remake or a reboot of something that has already been done.
Then we just need to put something on, we are still watching “Schitt’s Creek!”
What I Ate
We did a great job with meal planning this week. It was literally the first time in over a year. We made several different recipes and they were all super tasty!
At the beginning of the week, I went ahead and made a white bean chicken chili in the crockpot and froze it so we could reheat it later in the week. I technically could have made it in the crockpot during the day while I’m at work, but honestly, I already get up so much earlier than I care to. It’s dark when I get to work, so I didn’t feel like getting up any earlier to put ingredients in a crockpot. I love white bean chicken chili and with how cold it’s been lately, this was a welcome warm meal.
We decided to do Meatless Monday. I don’t know if we will make this a regular thing, but we did this week and made this delicious Mushroom Stroganoff. It was so easy to make and quite tasty!
We made this shrimp and andouille sausage sheet pan dinner. Turns out I love the Skinnytaste sheet pan dinners for weeknights. They are so easy to make because you just dump everything on a pan and bake. If you need weeknight meals in a hurry, this is the move. This was delicious and had a cajun vibe with a good amount of heat.
We also made a delicious sheet pan teriyaki salmon dinner that was my favorite meal of the week. We ate the entire thing in one sitting. No leftovers because it was SO yummy.
What I Did
I’m so excited. I booked a little creative work trip at the end of February to shoot some spring/summer content. Spring and summer kind of mesh together in the south lol. So I am planning for that trip and shopping for outfits and things to shoot while I am there.
I hung with Ben on Monday while he was sick and I got so much work done now that we have his big playpen. It’s amazing how much work I got done on Monday vs the entire time we were in quarantine a few weeks ago.
I did some fun Peloton workouts. I did Kendall’s 00’s ride from Jan. 10. and Cody’s pop ride from Jan. 11. I am excited to get in a few workouts over the weekend!
I’ve also been planning Ben’s birthday party! He turns 1 in March and since we didn’t really get to celebrate him during pregnancy or right after he was born, I’m happy to be planning his party. I am loving how everything is turning out and can’t wait to share details.
What I Wore
Stephen and I went on a casual date night Saturday night and this was my outfit. We just went to dinner so I didn’t want to go over the top, but also didn’t want to wear jeans.
We went to the brewery with some friends on Saturday and this was my outfit for that. It was chilly, so I wore this sherpa shacket with a white bodysuit and jeans. It was a comfy, casual, but warm look!
Another day, another shacket. I shared my shacket roundup post earlier in the week.
