My sweet boy has a new appreciation for toys! He loves music and lights and if the toy does both, even better! Today I’m rounding up the best baby toys for 9-12-month-olds (according to my 9-month-old.) He received most of these for Christmas or already owned them, but either way, these all live in my house and he can’t get enough of them.
Here are some of his favorites!
Owl Puppet – This is my favorite toy Ben received for Christmas. This owl puppet’s head SPINS AROUND! It’s seriously the coolest and will be a toy he can enjoy for a long time.
Animal Wheel – This is a classic. You pull the handle and it quacks or moos or sings at you. He loves it.
Musical penguin – Ben has a similar toy in physical therapy. We purchased this to do the same stretches at home and work on his torticollis. He likes it while we are stretching or just playing.
Activity Triangle – This thing has so many things to do in one triangle. Rainsticks, mirrors, wheels and more. He loves it.
Teething ark– Ben puts everything in his mouth so this is an “ark” with animals and every single thing can go in his mouth.
Baby remote – Ben steals our remote every day. So we got him his own.
Selfie phone – See above lol. But he also likes to look at himself in the mirror, so a selfie phone was a great choice. This also sings and lights up along with being a mirror.
My first gym bag – This was the sweetest gift from one of Stephen’s best friends for Ben. His name is on it and inside are four sports balls that all do something different like rattle or squeak or make noise. Ben has now figured out how to open the bag and take them out. He loves it!
Baby dumbbell – We thought this one was hilarious. It says don’t skip leg day and counts your reps. It’s very funny.
Baby video game controller – This one teaches shapes and counts. Plus it has fun video game music.
Counting drum – This speaks Spanish and English and has great music. It lights up lots of fun colors and really focuses on counting. Honestly, Ben just likes the drumming part. He LOVES drumming.
Jellycat stuffed animals – Even though Ben likes things that light up and make noise, he also loves stuffed animals. His favorites are several different lambs, a baby yoda that he uses as a pillow and this Jellycat monkey!
My first piano – This is the coolest toy. It’s wooden with painted keys on it. When you touch the keys, it makes a note. Babies can learn to play songs when they are a little older. There is also a switch that will just play piano music. It’s awesome.
Bathtime animals – Ben goes crazy for bathtub toys. These little soft animals are perfect!
Stacking cups – He doesn’t actually stack yet, but likes to bang the cups together and the colors.
Sophie the Giraffe – Omg. Sophie is ranked the top toy for babies and she is worth every penny. Ben LOVES her. She is a teether and even when surrounded by all his new toys, he still checks in with Sophie to chew on her for a bit.
DJ Panda – This one is hilarious. Your baby can mix beats and scratch records and honestly, the music is kind of catchy.
Soft blocks – These can go in the tub or just be played with on dry land, lol. He likes the colors and knocking them over if other people stack them up.
