You knew it was coming! I love making charcuterie boards. LOVE. In all caps! I think it’s so fun to try different techniques and create different effects. I blame Lunchables in the 90s. Anyway! Today I’m sharing this spooky Halloween charcuterie board. It’s so fun for Halloween and will definitely get your guests talking.
For this Halloween board, I used salami, pepperoni, brie, prosciutto, white cheddar, sugared figs, blackberries, everything seasoning almonds, chocolate-covered pretzels, black licorice, pistachios, dark chocolate almonds and grape jelly.
To make the skull, I purchased a cheap skull from At Home and washed it well. Then I layered pieces of prosciutto all over the skull. I focused on the jaw, nose and mouth area to make sure those were still defined. I gave two layers so you couldn’t see through the prosciutto. Then I put two cocktail onions in the eye area to make it look like eyeballs. I gave him a tongue with a dried apricot piece.
Next I figured out where I wanted my brie, made my salami river and placed the pepperoni roses. These were the main areas on the board so I mapped out their spot first. Then I added crumbled and cubed white cheddar. I usually just purchase a block when I’m making a board. I like white cheddar because it crumbles so nicely.
Once those areas were completed, I added blackberries, everything seasoning almonds, chocolate-covered pretzels, sugar figs, pistachios, and chocolate-covered almonds.
Then I added the “to die for” note on the brie with grape jelly. I spooned the jelly into a freezer bag and snipped off the end. This makes it easy to write creepy messages. I’m sure there is a better option, but I liked the grape jelly because it kept the brie flavors intact.
