If you subscribe to my newsletter, The Collective, then you saw that I announced I would begin posting Halloween content on Monday. Well, fast forward a few days, and SUPRISE, I started early. I couldn’t wait any longer. I have so many fun things to share. Starting with today’s post! I found these adorable little mini griddles and waffle makers in spooky shapes and decided we were kicking off Halloween content on the blog with a Halloween Breakfast Platter.
These little mini waffle makers are only $9.99! I bought the pumpkin, skull and spider web griddles because I couldn’t pick just one. Then I assembled them into a fun board to kick off spooky season.
Read my post on why you need a mini griddle here!
For my board, I assembled my spooky-shaped pancakes and waffles strategically. I wanted them to be the main focus of my board so they were the first things I added.
Next, I added some bacon roses to give a creepy, glam vibe. Bacon roses are really easy to make. You just roll a piece of uncooked bacon around a skewer tightly for 1/3 of the piece of bacon, then twist the remaining of the piece of bacon clockwise and continue wrapping, secure the bottom with a toothpick and then bake in a muffin tin at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes. I do 30 because I like crispier bacon. I’ll put together a video to make this more clear, but it really isn’t complicated!
Next, I added some chocolate mini doughnuts to some of the remaining areas. I gave them a creepy vibe by adding edible eyeballs. You can pick these up at Kroger. They are very easy to find! You can secure them with a little melted chocolate or frosting if you have it!
Finally, I filled in the bare spaces with blueberries. I was really lucky that the blueberries today were quite large! I originally intended to have blackberries too, but they weren’t available today. You could add any dark-colored fruit.
I added a few spooky details to my scene and voila! My breakfast board was complete! I can’t recommend the mini waffle makers enough. They are SO easy to use and made the shapes perfectly! You can check out my reel on Instagram to see how I assembled the board!
