Our sweet Benjamin is two months old! This past weekend, he got to experience his first pool day! It was so much fun and our little boy just loves the water. Planning to take a baby to the pool is a whole different experience. Before Ben, I just grabbed a towel, some sunscreen and a White Claw to go to the pool. Now we have to pack a lot of stuff! In today’s post, I’m sharing all of our baby pool essentials for a successful pool day with our boy!
Baby dome – This was a hand-me-down from my sweet friend and officially my number one recommendation for a pool day. You can’t put sunscreen on a baby until 6 months (who knew?!) so to prevent them from getting burned this baby dome is SPF 50. It has a padded bottom and mesh sides so baby can stay comfy and cool inside. Ben LOVED his time in the baby dome, and I felt good about him being safe from the sun.
Little swimmers diapers – You can’t put real diapers in the pool, so these little swimmers are a must-have!
Rash guard swimsuit – again, all about protecting my little nugget from the sun. He wore this rash guard shirt and trunk combo the second day at the pool. This link has a lot of options for designs.
Pool float – my other favorite recommendation on this list. Check out the cutest reel on my Instagram of Ben in his pool float. This float has a vest to keep your baby secure, a tail to prevent flipping, and a sun shield. Plus they just look adorable while they are in it. Obviously, don’t leave your baby unattended while in the float.
Baby hat – In addition to looking adorable, it protects your baby’s face from the sun.
Baby sunglasses – See above lol. Keep their new eyes protected from UV rays while they look totally adorable.
Stroller fan – This stroller fan is great for a stroller, but can also be hooked onto the baby dome to keep your little one cool.
Baby pool bag – All this stuff has to go somewhere. Having a separate bag for your baby’s pool essentials is really helpful!
