Do you have a baby or bridal shower coming up? How about a birthday or bachelorette party? If so, consider an “Under The Sea” themed party! Today, I’m sharing several details of how to make the perfect mermaid or sea themed party.
The nice thing about this theme is you can go several different ways with it. For example, if you are hosting a bachelorette party, you can call it “NAME’S Last Splash.” If it’s a shower or a birthday party, you can go with a “Let’s Shell-ebrate, NAME!” It has a great variety and LOTS of fun details you can add.
For these photos, I went with more of a mermaid theme, but you could easily focus more on simply the ocean or “Under the Sea.”
FOOD: For snacks and food, I made little chicken salad crab croissants, mermaid-inspired cakesicles with chocolate tails and shells, sand dollar cookies and “fishbowl” drinks. You can make these with or without alcohol. I’ll be posting more on the food and recipes soon.
DECOR: For decor, I used these rose gold backdrops I already had as tablecloths. They are a great double for a tablecloth. I think they were perfect for a mermaid-inspired party. I also continued the mermaid theme throughout my place settings. I used pink napkins with fun sparkly sea napkin rings.
My mom put together some gorgeous floral arrangements in pink, blue and purple to match the theme. On top of the table, I spread an assortment of shells.
ACTIVITIES: There are several different activities you could do with this theme depending on the attendees. For kids, you could watch “The Little Mermaid,” play with bubbles, do some watercolor painting, play pin the tail on the mermaid, make under the sea slime, or play in a sprinkler or blow up pool if it’s summer time.
For adults, you could have a “mermosa bar,” enjoy a pool day with fun shell and mermaid tail floats, or play “flipper cup.”
