A French Toast Board is such a fun and unique piece for your next brunch gathering. They are also relatively easy to make, so that is always a plus!
I have a video on my Instagram of how I assembled the board, check it out!
To make a French toast board, you will need:
-French toast. I used thick brioche bread and cut in half so I could have triangles.
-French toast toppings. I used coconut, powdered sugar, syrup, chocolate chips and cinnamon and sugar mixture.
-Fruit. I went with classic strawberries and blueberries. I also added some fun kiwi and blood oranges to my board for extra color.
-Butter. Always a staple.
-Something extra. I went with bacon. You could add sausage or eggs or a bowl of grits or hashbrowns. Just think some kind of side to go with french toast.
While I didn’t add these to this board, some other ideas I have are nutella, bananas, whipped cream, or chocolate or strawberry syrup. The sky’s the limit here. Think about your favorite French toast recipe and go from there to create your board.
To assemble my board, I started with my French toast slices. I made a long, curvy line of French toast down the center of my board.
After that I added the larger items like my ramekins of toppings.
Then I placed my larger fruits like my kiwi and blood oranges.
Next, I positioned my bacon and butter slices.
Once those were in place, I filled in the blank areas with strawberries and blueberries.
Finally, I sprinkled powdered sugar down the middle of my French toast for a nice finishing touch.
I love my completed board and think it is such a fun idea for a brunch party. Brunch boards are definitely served best with a bottomless mimosa bar! Actually most anything is served best with a mimosa bar if you ask me.
