In honor of “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before: Always and Forever” coming out today, I made these SUPER easy cherry turnovers. Now in the movie, Lara Jean makes hers from scratch. I did not do that. I made mine in a few minutes but they were so tasty. Since it’s also Valentine’s Day this weekend, I made the icing pink. Check out how I made these yummy, easy cherry turnovers below.

Ingredients:
-Frozen puff pastry
-cherry pie filling
-1 egg white
-1.5 cups powdered sugar
-2 tbsps milk
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-Wax paper
-Food coloring (optional)
Directions:
-Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
-Thaw your frozen puff pastry according to the box. I put mine in a paper towel and microwaved for 15 seconds on both sides.
-Once thawed, cut your pastry into your desired shape. Some people cut into a square and fold over into a triangle. I went strictly Lara Jean and made rectangles. Either way, use a pizza cutter to get the desired shape. Just make sure you have a top and a bottom, or something you can fold.
-Place the bottom piece on a baking sheet with wax paper.
-Cut a small slit into the top layers of pastry. I did three, there was no rhyme or reason to it.
-Open the can of cherry pie filling and put a spoonful or two on the bottom layer of your turnover.
-Cover the bottom layer and cherry filling with the top layer of pastry.
-I used a fork to help seal the two layers, but you don’t have to do that.
-Brush an egg white over the pastries to help seal the turnovers.
-Bake for 20-25 minutes.
For the icing
-Combine powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract in a bowl.
-Whisk together until smooth.
-Add food coloring if desired.
-Either spoon over the warm turnovers or place into a piping bag and pipe icing onto turnovers.
These turned out SO tasty! I was very excited they didn’t explode all over my oven, so I highly recommend the fork trick. I’m adding this to my list of breakfast items I can make that look impressive, but really take very little effort! We ate all of these easy cherry turnovers, and wished we had more.
