These Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie treats look impressive, but are really easy to make. They are the perfect treat for your child’s Valentine’s Day class party, a girl’s day or just for fun! Since I am about to be a mom, I’m looking for recipes and treats that make me look like I have it all together, when in reality I do not! I’m usually running around last-minute all the time, and I don’t think that will improve once my baby is born. These treats are perfect to help you create the illusion that you are on top of things.

To make the Rice Krispie treats, you will need:
-1/2 Cup of Butter
-4 Cups of Rice Krispie Treats
-1 package of mini marshmallows
-Something fun to add into your treats (I used sprinkles, but you can use M&Ms or other pink and red candy)
-White chocolate chips
-Pink food coloring
-More sprinkles
-A 9×13 pan
-A baking sheet
-Wax paper
-A heart-shaped cookie cutter
Directions
–Melt your butter in a large saucepan over low heat
-Once fully melted add in your marshmallows
-Stir until there are zero lumps and don’t let it burn
-Add in your Rice Krispie treats gradually until they are well-coated with the marshmallow mixture
-Remove from heat and quickly add in your extras
-Press firmly with wax paper or a buttered spatula into a 9×13 greased baking pan (I just used wax paper in the bottom of my pan too)
-Let set for 5 minutes
-While it’s setting, you can go ahead and melt your chocolate. If you want to get fancy, you can use a double boiler, but I’m lazy and don’t feel like cleaning that, so I melt mine in the microwave 30 seconds and a time and stir in between
-Add as much or as little pink food coloring to your white chocolate
-Once the krispies are set, use your heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out hearts
-Dip half of the treat in the chocolate (or you can do the whole front or just the corner, your call!)
-Dip the chocolate covered portion in sprinkles or place on a baking sheet with wax paper and add sprinkles on top
-Place the treat on the baking sheet to harden
Once the chocolate has hardened, you can eat them!
The nice thing about Rice Krispie treats is you can make them for any occasion. You just need the right cookie cutter. Think shamrocks for St. Patrick’s Day, eggs for Easter, turkeys for Thanksgiving, etc. It’s a fun, easy treat you can make with your kids or for family get-togethers. But these Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treats are just too cute!
