I’ve lived in Georgia my entire life. I’ve moved around a bit, but overall Georgia is home sweet home. In our new house, we wanted to pay homage to our home state and style a bar cart area. It didn’t originally start out as a Georgia-themed cart. We just wanted a bar cart at the beginning, but it quickly morphed into this little project. We purchased this bar cart, and love how it looks in our home. It is a nice mixture of gold, wood and leather. In terms of bar carts, it’s also on the more affordable side and I love that it has a handle.
It all started when we found this “Drink Local, Atlanta” print at Homegoods. We knew we wanted to include it as part of our little cart set-up, so we thought maybe we should make an Atlanta bar cart. Even though we have moved to the burbs of Atlanta, it’s still a big part of who we are and where we come from. So we went down that rabbit hole for awhile. We found this great print of the roof of Hotel Clermont from a local Atlanta artist. The love the roof at Hotel Clermont in Atlanta and the renovation they did a few years ago so it seemed fitting. I was torn between this print and this “Beers of Atlanta” print, but I needed a 9×14 print to match the Homegoods find.
We also decided to hang our AlphabetArt print that we received as a wedding gift on top of these two prints. While I’m not sure these pictures were taken in Georgia, they have a hometown vibe and we got married right up the street from where we live. So we thought it worked.
After we found the Atlanta prints, we unpacked our Milledgeville coasters from my mom and the shot glasses we stole from The Brick in 2012. Stephen and I met at GCSU, so our entire backstory takes place in Milledgeville, Ga. It seemed appropriate to include these items and pay homage to the town that built us. This is where our Atlanta bar cart became a Georgia bar cart.
We added our Georgia cutting board and felt good about that too. This brand has most of the states if you don’t live in Georgia!
After that, we included some other items we already had to fill the bar cart. I’ve linked them here:
Pineapple Cocktail Shaker
Moscow Mule mugs (similar)
Large Decanter
Small Decanter
Wine Cooler
Bar tools (similar)
Silver cocktail shaker (similar)
We then added some of our favorite bottles to the bottom rack and plan to fill our decanters up. I’m waiting for the funnel to come in so we are extra careful and don’t spill during the transfer.
Overall, I love this little piece and am so pleased with how this Georgia corner turned out. I am sure we will add things and definitely plan on changing it up for holidays, but during the regular season this is perfect for us!
How did you style a bar cart? What is your favorite item?
