Well, it’s not secret I edited a book with my mom! It was six years in the making, but last week I physically got to hold my first copy. It’s been such a surreal and exciting time.
While we’re talking about books, it’s been awhile since I’ve shared a “what I’m reading lately” post. I have been beyond busy the past few weeks, but I do like to make time to read (or listen to audio books during my commute to and from work.) Here are a few I’ve been reading lately.
Daisy Jones and the Six – We read this for book club last month and I LOVED it. It’s one of my new favorites. I listened to this one as an audio book mostly and was genuinely disappointed when I had to get out of the car. I just wanted more!
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine – This is what we are reading this month for book club. It was actually my pick because I’m hosting this month! Reese is making it into a movie so you know I had to choose it. It’s quirky and clever and I found myself loving Eleanor who is anything but fine lol.
The Library Book – This book is non-fiction and if you are a lover of books it is a MUST-READ! In the aftermath of the Los Angeles Public Library fire, it tells a beautiful story of libraries and librarians. I grew up going to the library with my mom. Circle time, children’s book club, and craft corners sit vividly in my memories. I would know the smell of our public library anywhere. This book showed the appreciation of the library and I thought it was a truly beautiful book.
The Best Friend – I love a good mystery. I choose to read these during the summer because I find them so easy to read by the pool. This one reminded me of Girl on the Train. If you liked that you will definitely like this. With no spoilers, I loved the ending!
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before – This is one of my favorite movies on Netflix. No joke. So I really wanted to read the book now that I’ve seen the movie at least 50 times. I loved the book even more than the movie!
What are you reading right now?
