Happy Hump Pals!
Today we’re talking about something I legit never thought about–adding honey to your skin care. Doesn’t this seem nuts? Honey is sticky and thick, something you don’t really consider great for skin care. However, it’s an excellent superfood. It’s chock-full of antioxidants and added to natural remedies including coughs, sore throats, burns, cuts, indigestion and allergies.
So why not skin care, ya know?
Turns out, honey is perfect for skin care. It has purifying, moisturizing and anti-aging benefits. In fact, honey is made up of mostly water which moisturizes you skin, and the sticky-sweet part attracts and locks the moisture in. Sounds great right?
Want to go a step further? Bees produce honey, obviously, but they also produce propolis and royal jelly. Propolis is the “bee-glue” that holds together bee hives, but has incredible anti-inflamatory, medicinal, and healing properties. Royal jelly is produced for the bee’s nutrition and is full of amino acids. This gives skin hydration, and leaves soft and supple skin.
Combining honey, proplis, and royal jelly is the triple threat of skin care.
Now, I’m not recommending that you go to your pantry and rub honey all over your face. That’s a little nuts, friends. I do want to recommend one of my new favorite lines. It’s actually not that new, I’ve been using some of these products for three months and some a little more recently. However, adding these into my skin care routine was a complete and total game changer. By that, I mean it cleared my chin acne. So serious.
Farmacy Beauty uses cutting-edge science to harness the healing powers of ingredients found in nature. The result is farm-to-face skin care that lives up to its full potency and potential through clean, thoughtful formulas.
Let’s break down some of my favorite products, shall we?
First up is the Green Clean make-up removing cleansing balm. This natural balm legitimately melts your make-up away. It dives deep into your pores and strips everything away. My face has never felt so clean after using this. Before, I strictly used a make-up wipe and face wash, but after making the switch, I truly feel like my face is so so clean.
I pair the balm with Clean Bee Facial Cleanser. This is where the honey starts to come into play. It gently cleans your face because, again, it’s all natural–has sugar, coconut, and amino acids. At the same time, it infuses honey into your skin for uber hydration. I feel like I drank a vat of water after I wash my face.
Another of my favorite products is the Honeymoon Glow. Real talk this was almost always sold out at Sephora because it’s that good. The Honeymoon Glow is a 3-in-1 night serum that resurfaces, hydrates and clarifies dull skin while you sleep. It’s the very last step of my night time skin care routine. My friend recommended this to me as my first Farmacy product and described it as waking up with an Instagram filter on your face. It resurfaces dull skin, refines pores, and gently exfoliates. If you start with anything from this company, start here. It’s good for all skin types.
Ok last product I’m talking about (they have lots) is the Honey Potion Face Mask. Before we even get into what it does, I just want to comment that this is the prettiest packaging ever. I’m big on aesthetic lol. This warming mask is for intense hydration. The honey is locally sourced and combines the propolis and royal jelly I mentioned earlier, and also Vitamin B. Since I’ve been using this, my skin has been smooth, younger-looking, glowing, and clearer–like less acne. Halle-freaking-lujah.
I’m obsessed. Can you tell?
So what about you? Do you add honey into your skin care? Have you ever tried Farmacy Beauty?

Natural and raw honey is amazing for the skin! I used to cleanse with honey once or twice a week just to keep my skin smooth and have a special pick-me-up during the week. Man did I see a huge difference. Plus, I know people who would only cleanse with honey and that’s it. Trust me when I say their skin was stunning! Thanks for the reminder of adding this back into my skincare routine
I did not know this about honey. But I will be adding honey to my skincare routine. Honey Potion Face Mask sounds like very nice, definitely will have to try it.
What a great tip! One of my goals for the year is to take better care of my skin — I’ll have to check some of these out. Thank you!
I’ve heard such good things about this brand, definitely need to look into it and add honey to my routine.
Sure, it may sound crazy, but I actually DO use straight up organic honey as a mask to help as an anti-inflammatory and to soothe any acne or scarring. It’s a lifesaver. And these products that INCLUDE honey sound equally fantastic!
ahhh yesss! i need to try this!! Whenever i’ve added honey to like a DIY mask or something i’ve LOVED it and always think i should use more honey or products with honey in my routine!
I’ve heard honey is amazing for your skin and actually your hair as well! My sister swears by some of her DIY skincare masks using honey. I definitely will look into this line of products 🙂
I used honey before, and I don’t remember why I stopped lol. A honey face mask sounds great!
