Happy Monday! How are we doing today?
Last week, I mentioned that I went to Music Midtown. It was a blast and I’m still so sad it’s over.
BUT today I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite hair tips for a music festival. Side note: I definitely got my sister to help me with this hairstyle. I’m not that good on my own so I take no credit other than having hair.
She made this masterpiece by giving me a middle part and french braiding the top layer of my hair. Be sure to use those cute little clear elastics to tie the braids off. Next make the braids fun and fat by pulling each section of the braid in opposite directions to flatten them out. Finally wrap a piece of hair around the elastic and secure with a bobby pin.
Ok into my tips for great hair during a music festival:
-Keep it off your face. Ponytails, braids, and buns are your friends. It’s so hot, it’s nice to have your hair out of your face–even better if it’s also off your neck. I’m a big hair flipper at concerts though so I usually keep it down.
-Sunscreen your part. If you have any kind of part in your hair, be sure to protect your scalp and apply sunscreen any exposed skin. I love this Dab-On Sport Stick because it isn’t greasy and has SPF 50 (pale friends like me rejoice!)
-Go natural. Humidity is the real deal, so get a texturizing spray for beachy waves and just roll with it. I love this Sugar Spray from Pureology for beachy waves. Bonus: it smells great and that can’t hurt at a music festival
-Go wild if you want. Glitter parts, have at it! Party buns, yes please. This is the time to try that crazy style you’ve been eyeing on Pinterest.
-Dry shampoo is your friend. To keep your hair fresh and not greasy, keep your dry shampoo handy. It’s a necessary hair tool to have in your arsenal especially if you have to camp for the festival.

This is such a pretty braid and festival look! I’ve never thought to put sunscreen on my part, but that’s so smart especially if you’re getting direct sunlight on the top of your head.
Oh gosh I want to wear these hair styles to work! Is that acceptable? haha
LOVE those double braids! They are so cute! And I like the sunscreen tip!
I love those braids. Usually when I’m going to a festival, especially one that is outdoors in the heat, I stick with top knots, but maybe I need to try something new!
Dry shampoo for. the. win. Yes yes yes! I love braids, and your hair is so pretty!
