We’ve all been there. You went to happy hour with your best girlfriends to catch up on life. The rosé started flowing and you woke up the next day with your last night’s shoes and make-up still on–your fake lashes askew. Or you binged watched Grey’s Anatomy for the 42nd time and fell asleep on the couch, only to wake up with the cushion lines firmly imprinted in yesterday’s foundation.
Falling asleep in your make-up happens and it doesn’t have to be a defcon-5 situation. We can survive without break-outs, bumps, fine lines, and wrinkles. I actually fall asleep in my make-up way more than I care to admit, but I have come up with a routine to rectify the skin-hangover situation.
First thing’s first. Girl, Wash Your Face. Sidenote: have y’all read this book? I LOVED it. I want to talk to people that have read it. Today I mean it in the literal sense though. I get my sleepy butt up and immediately go wash my face.
Pacifica Beauty has a line SOLELY dedicated to taking care of your skin after you are rude to it. Seriously, this whole line is made for late nights and stress. I use the face wash from this line: Pacifica Beauty Coconut Milk Cream to Foam Face Wash. I also run an old reliable Clearasil pad over it for good measure.
I then warm up a bit of the Pacifica Beauty Stress Rehab Cleansing oil in between my hands, and rub it onto my face to clean up any extra make-up, dirt or shame that remains. I actually use this all the time whether I slept in my make-up or not because it helps diminish stress on your face. I’m stressed out all. the. time. So I like to use this product so my face doesn’t reveal how stressed I actually am.
When I’m done getting squeaky clean, I walk downstairs to my freezer and pull out my ice roller and go to town on my face. It helps wake me up, but also gets the blood flowing and gives future products applied the opportunity so sink deeper into my pores.
If it is a weekend, I will do the Pacifica Beauty Stress Rehab mask. If it’s a weekday I am probably already late for work and don’t have time for that. I will do it in the evening after I get home though. This is an important step and beneficial no matter when you do it.
After that I resume my morning routine as usual, but hyper-focus on the hydration oils and serums. You can check out my morning skin care routine here.
Throughout the day, I drink plenty of water to re-hydrate my skin and skip any greasy, oily, or fried foods to give my poor skin a fighting chance.
Other than that, it’s business as usual! What’s your favorite skin hangover remedy?

I’ve heard such great things about that ice roller! The other skincare products sound amazing! I don’t think I’ve tried any of those products yet, but need to!
I’ve never used an ice roller before!! I definitely want to try it! I actually just got home not too long ago from a girls’ night and you bet I washed my face like crazy and applied all of my skincare. I just love going to bed knowing my skin is happy & healthy.
That facial mask looks amazing — I don’t do them nearly often enough for my skin. I also need to look into an ice roller; they look really helpful!
