I’m a day late with today’s post. I’m having a full Friends day “hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your yeeeeeeaar” lol.
Work has been straight up kicking my ass. All day every day from 8-5. I’m just being honest–it’s been bad. So I’m trying, but I know my content and post schedule has been slipping.
However, we’re here now so let’s get to it.
A few weeks ago, Tarte had a sale where you could fill a make-up bag for $63! It was like $200 worth of full-sized products on sale for $63! It was great. So, of course, I participated.
It gave me the opportunity to try some products I haven’t tried yet. So I thought it would be fun to go through my haul and talk about which products I loved and which were just meh.
So let’s get started.
Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer Concealer: So I was worried about this because I am pale. Like real pale. Like if casper and that guy from the DaVinci Code had a baby pale. So I always get a little weird about buying concealer and foundation online without trying it, but this is what’s up! I love this concealer. It has great coverage–I’d say like medium to full. I really like that it’s water-based because you know I’m all about the hydration right now. I would give this one five out of five!
Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation: Ok so in all fairness I love Shape Tape so this one wasn’t new. It’s one of my favorite foundations. So I’m obviously going to give it 5 out of 5. This one is full-coverage and looks great. Plus it matches my skin tone like *muah* perfection!
Tartiest Metallic Shadow in Shake Down: So I really like this shadow! It’s got great pigmentation and shimmer so that’s fun. Plus it’s a neutral color so it can be blended and worn with lots of colors. I give it a four out of five because the shimmer is definitely there so I’d say it can’t be worn all the time–or it can, I like shimmer. Either way I really really like it.
The Sculptor Contouring Face Slenderizer: I like this because it seems easy, but I have trouble–maybe I just need more practice. I feel like it should be fool-proof, you just draw on your face where you want to contour and blend, but mine doesn’t look very natural when I do it. I have started wetting my Beauty Blender and that helps, but it still seems off. I use contour powder usually so maybe it’s the difference of textures. I give this a 2 out of 5 with hopes that I just get better at it lol.
Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara: I really really liked this mascara–and you know I’m all about the lashes. My favorite part is the brush. I love that it lifts and separates the lashes to create long, clump free lashes. It definitely doesn’t plump the lashes, but does focus on length so I really like it. I give it a four out of five 🙂
The Lip Architect: Ok, I didn’t like this one at all…so much so I forgot to take a picture lol. The color was wrong, the consistency was weird, just all wrong. I give it a 1 out of 5. Not for me.
I also got some samples! Mermaid Skin Hyaluronic H20 Serum and Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. I actually REALLY liked both! Again, I love products that hydrate and I feel like both of these really do. The Deep Dive really cleansed my face and helped remove my make-up. The Mermaid Serum can be worn under your foundation and be worked into your routine at night. I think I am going to purchase both of these because I really liked them and the packaging is adorable!! Plus who doesn’t want to be a mermaid?
Did you participate in the Tarte sale? Anything you just loved??
I am so happy to hear about this concealer! I also am super pale and have the same issue with concealer, so I need to check this out ASAP.
I am a huge fan of Tarte products. I have only used the Tart Shape Tape foundation though out of all of these products. I love me some Shape Tape! I may have to check some of these other products out to see if I would have any luck with them. Great review!
I love atarte products, but I haven’t had a chance to try a ton of them yet, so I plan to save some of these names for my next trip to Ulta! Thanks so much for sharing!
I need to try that foundation!
The eye shadow looks interesting!!i have never tried anything from Tarte. Really want to try shape tape as well!!
I love what I’ve tried from Tarte so far! It’s not the easiest brand to get here in Australia, unfortunately, which is why I haven’t tried any of these yet but I’ve got my greedy little eye on a few. The mascara has really tickled my fancy. x
That Tarte sale was AMAZING – I’m obsessed with everything I got in my bag!
You bet I participated in that sale! It was actually my first time ordering any Tarte products. I’m honestly very disappointed. I received the wrong bag and was missing 2 items. I’ve been dealing with their customer service and I’m annoyed. I did get the same concealer and foundation and I can’t wait to try those 2 out!
Yesss! I love these picks! Tarte is the best and during one of their sales is the best time to stock up!
Okay . You just sold me on the shape tape foundation. I’ve been wanting to try it. & what a great deal you received im so bummed that i missed it.
