Hubbs and I just got back from Disney last week. After our trip, we really feel like Masters at making the most of our time at Disney! We kept saying the whole time that people who complain about going to Disney and don’t get to do anything…are doing it wrong. We did absolutely everything we wanted to do, rode everything we wanted to ride, and ate every Mickey shaped snack throughout the parks.
Hubbs actually came up with the idea for this post. He thought we should share all the tips we have for getting through Disney quickly and efficiently. He’s so good! So here are the tips we came up with.
1. Download the Disney World App.
The Disney World app is fantastic. I think the highlight is the wait times. You can see how long the wait is for each ride or attraction. This way you can beep-boop-bop on over to the rides with the shortest times. Having this information really saves SO much time and prevents you from wasting time waiting in line. The app also has really great information like where to meet characters, restroom locations, entertainment and event schedules, PhotoPass and more. It’s really the all-in-one tool you need in your pocket to master getting around the parks and resorts.
2. Plan Your FastPasses Ahead of Time
Secure your FastPasses as soon as you have your tickets for the parks. Book the rides that are going to be the longest wait. That may not necessarily be the most popular ride. For example, at Magic Kingdom a smart FastPass pick is the Peter Pan’s Flight. It’s a classic ride that always has a long-line but isn’t exactly worth a 70 minute wait. The earlier you book your FastPasses, the more options you will have! We did wait a little too long to book ours, so a few of the rides were already picked over.
3. Arrive early & Run
So we couldn’t get FastPasses for some of the MOST popular rides (because we didn’t get our FastPasses the day we planned our trip! See tip 2) Hubbs and I decided to get to the parks for “rope drop” and legitimately haul-ass to the most popular rides. For Magic Kingdom, that’s the 7 Dwarves Mine Train. For Animal Kingdom, it’s the Avatar Flight of Passage. For Hollywood Studios, it’s Toy Story Mania. You can pictures later, so get in and GO to the rides with the longest lines. That will save you time in the afternoon.
There you have it! What are your tips for getting through Disney quickly?
Super duper smart tips! I’ve been to Disneyland a million times, but never Disney World. I’ll make it eventually!
omg this is SOOOO great! love ALL these tips and def going to be sharing!
I didn’t know about the app, how cool!
The app is so helpful! Planning my fast passes was my first thing to do. Looks like you had fun!
I did not know they had an app! My husband and I want to visit sometime soon, so we’ll have to remember that.
Interesting! I am going to disneyland in the summer and will use some of these tips for a better and more efficient trip
Fast passes are a must! The last time we went to Disneyland the Disney app saved us so much time! I have never been to Disney World but I want to someday!
First time I hear about an app! I always arrive early but I never get the FatPass, so there’s always something I don’t get to see 🙁 Great tips, thank you for sharing!
I haven’t been to Disney World in years, but the app sounds so handy! There is so much to do there, that it really helps to have a plan ahead of time.
My best friend and I are planning a trip to Disney this fall, so this is perfect! I will definitely be buying the FastPass ahead of time as that was something I would’ve waited on before.
That app was soooooo helpful when we did Disney – saves an absurd amount of time in the parks!!
Fast Pass is worth EVERY penny! It allows you to enjoy so much more! Great tips!
I didn’t know they had an app – that’s awesome! When I went to Disney when I was a Sophmore in high school we got fast passes and it was so worth it! I hope I can make it back again some day.
My family loves Disney World and I could NOT agree more with this list. Especially the whole arrive early and run part, it’s so true. Disney is so much fun, but the effort is exhausting at times.
Great idea on using the Disney World app. It definitely would help on the wait time in the lines.
Isn’t it great when your partner have an awesome idea for your blog?! My partner sometimes has these strokes of genius and I am left amazed that he could have such a good insight on something that he has basically nothing to do with, and I will never not be thankful for him.
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to visit Disney World, but there’s a few Disneylands around the world so I’m hoping I’ll be able to visit at least one of them, and I’m sure most of these tips would come in handy for that as well!
