Hellllooo!
Hubbs and I are back from our trip to Disney! ICYMI, we’ve spent the last few days skipping around Disney World. It was a blast, and quite honestly I am devastated to be home… going a job where my title is not “Her Royal Highness” and my hair doesn’t look magically flawless is really a bit fat bummer.
Anyways, I have lots of fun Disney World posts coming your way over the next couple weeks!
Hubbs and I don’t have kids, so during our trip we were able to experience activities that were perfect for adults. Disney has really pulled out all the stops to make sure everyone of all ages has a fabulous time. We really had a blast! So today’s post is five activities that are perfect for adults at Disney World.
1. Have a Millennial Pink Celebration Toast at Amorette’s Patisserie
Soooo I’m not going to say this was my first priority when we landed in Orlando, but I’m also not prepared to deny it. This is the most beautiful drink. It’s lovely pink sparkling wine with glittery rose gold white chocolate Mickey ears on top. Amorette’s Patisserie is located in Disney Springs and is the cutest stop too. It has BEAUTIFUL pastries, cakes, and sandwiches. Totally worth a stop for one of these gorgeous drinks and a tasty treat.
2. Star Wars: Secrets of The Empire by The VOID
THIS. WAS. THE. COOLEST. THING. I have zero point zero zero virtual reality experience (like never even tested the goggle thing at a mall kiosk), but Stephen does and he said it was amazing too. I also don’t watch Star Wars, and this was still one of the highlights for me of the trip. You get completely suited up and are 100% immersed in the experience. You are a rebel fighter disguised as a Storm Trooper and go on a secret mission. Ok but like YOU ARE a Storm Trooper. If you lift up your hand, it’s no longer your human hand, it’s a Storm Trooper hand. You look at the person you came with and their human form is no longer there, it’s a Storm Trooper.
The coolest thing is that the VR experience is mixed with real elements. So at one point you have to crack a code, but you actually have to push buttons. Then you have to steal a gun, but you reach out and it’s a real gun. I would seriously go down to Orlando again just for this. It’s AMAZING!!!!! I think it would be a little scary for kids, but for teenagers and adults this is a must-see! You can find this is Disney Springs as well!
3. Dockside Margaritas
This is a fabulous pre-dinner stop. We went after the Star Wars Virtual Reality and before dinner. These margaritas are delicious and the shack overlooks the water and volcano at Rain Forest Café. Stephen had the Orange Grove Rum Runner Margarita and I had the watermelon margarita and they were both unbelievably tasty. Also, you can listen to live music late in the afternoon. It’s so fun. I’m actually sad we didn’t go for another round of margaritas. You can find Dockside Margaritas in Disney Springs.
4. House of Blues
So this isn’t the only House of Blues in the world, but they have a great location in Disney Springs! This restaurant has great Cajun food, a patio bar with signature drinks and outdoor live music, inside live music and a different specialty drink menu. I had the Green Gator at the outdoor bar and a Bumble Bee with dinner. I also highly recommend the Voodoo Shrimp appetizer! It was SO delicious.
5. The Edison
The Edison is a super fun gothic-style speak easy type bar. After hours it turns into an adults only cabaret. The bar features live musicians, flapper dancers, contortionists, aerialists, and a DJ. We went during some kind of local swing dancing event, so it WAS packed. So I would recommend calling ahead to see what’s going on that night, but regardless it was awesome. Such a fun bar and atmosphere!
Have you been to Disney World? What is your favorite activity as an adult?
I LOVE going to Disney with or without kids. My husband and I went for our honeymoon 13 years ago, but the kids have come with us every since. Sometimes we get a babysitter for one night though.
That’s so fun! I love that you kept the tradition alive!
OK I AM SOOOOOOO glad you got to do the Void!! Not sure if you saw that in my Adults at Disney post, but that was hands down one of my favorite things EVER at Disney. So friggin’ cool amiright?!?!?! Also the Edison is SUCH a fun time. A+!!!
IT WAS SO COOL! I really don’t know much about Star Wars and I still think it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done! I remember you went to Disney recently so i’m going to re-check out your post!
I went to Disney when I was a kid and haven’t been able to go back. Seeing these activities made me want to pay a visit so bad! I’m sure the experience will be very different but every bit as fun 🙂
Yes! Disney does such a great job of creating magical experiences for all ages!
ok sounds like an amazing time my friend 🙂 love love lvoe that yo had such a great time and that you got to do the VOID.
Thanks Cait! We really had a great time!
Looove House of Blues! The food and drinks are amazing. And my husband would love the Star Wars VR so we’ll have to do that the next time we’re there.
You definitely need too! It’s one of the coolest things ever!
Give me anything millenial pink!! haha These all look great and the food looks delish!!!
Same girl! It’s my fave.
This all looks like so much fun! I’ve been wanting to go to Disney with my husband and our best friends for a while now. I guess we really have to go soon! The millennial pink drink–NEED!
YES! The pink drink is the best!
My fiancé and I both have never been to Disney. The more I hear and read about all the things you can do just as adults makes me want to go even more! Thanks for sharing!
You definitely should go! It’s a great time for all ages!
Sounds like you had a great time! I keep hearing about the cool Star Wars thing at Downtown Disney – I need to check it out!
It’s really one of the coolest things I’ve ever done!
There really is so much for adults to do at Disney – I’m super excited to check out the Edison next time I’m there! Disney Springs is a good spot to hang out and especially try food and drink!
It’s SO fun! It was such a cool atmosphere and I loved all the entertainment.
I adore all these ideas! I have to say any type of pink cocktail is my fave!
Agreed!
The food! The drinks! Who knew (not me)? Glad you had a great time (the Star Wars thing sounds super cool)!
It really is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done!
This post is super helpful as I’m hoping to go to Disneyland somewhat soon and I didn’t know if I would like it. I hope they have a patisserie at the one I’ll be going to!
I went to Disney World for a choir tripwhen I was a Sophomore in high school. My husband hasn’t been to Disney World, so I would love to take him.
