It’s that time again! How about a monthly Q & A + Instagram Round Up? It’s a busy week so this one is a little shorter so let’s just jump right into it.
1. What are these things you keep teasing for Q2?
-LOL, so one of the things was the YouTube Channel and that has officially launched so that’s not a tease anymore! YAY!
The other thing is still a little bit of a tease. I will give you a hint though…it involves Hubbs. Oh and I am not pregnant. That seems to be everyone’s first guess. I’ll go ahead and clear that up. We are not planning on having kids anytime soon! We’re having too much fun right now just the two of us and still have plenty of time.
Back to the announcement…more soon, you won’t have to wait much longer!
2. Do you monetize your blog, if so how?
So this is a great question and something I want to get into further eventually. One thing I feel like I really don’t talk about on my blog is actually blogging. Go figure.
The short answer is yes. I monetize my blog. I am primarily monetizing through sponsored posts and affiliate links. Let’s start with sponsored posts. I took the best course in the entire world last year called BossPitch. Taking that course has turned my blog around. This course taught me everything I needed to know about pitching to brands, negotiating fair prices, and how NOT TO WORK FO’ FREE! I can’t recommend BossPitch enough to bloggers and influencers. Just check it out, thank me later!
Ok, let’s talk affiliate links. This means if a reader purchases something I suggest and it’s an affiliate link, I make a commission. It’s not a zillion dollars in commission. I am not paying my rent off commission, but its a little extra change here and there. I am always so appreciative when a reader purchases something I suggest. Literally nothing feels better than when you know your followers and readers trust you and your opinions.
For both sponsored posts and affiliate links, I always keep it 100 with y’all and don’t suggest things or work with companies that don’t align with my brand.
Lol, remember when I said this was the short answer? Whoops.
3. How do you get accepted to go to Blog trips?
Remember that course BossPitch I mentioned? You should realllly check it out. 😉 You can also look for specific events you’re interested in, and potentially apply online. For example, to go to Charleston Fashion Week, I applied as media to attend. Always be on the lookout for ways to attend as the media. However, pitching your booty off is the way to go.
Alright, that’s it for this week. Like I said, keeping it short! Have a great Wednesday!
