Our house has transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland! Does anyone else feel like their house feels the most home-y at Christmas? It almost feels like the rest of the year is wrong, but Christmas the house looks exactly like it’s supposed to.
If I had it my way, my entire house would be gold and white glitter. However, Stephen lives here and does not share my views on glitter. We have found a way to compromise though. We stick to the traditional colors–red and green and then add gold, so we all win!
This year we actually have a house, so we haveΒ lots of rooms to decorate! I was most excitedΒ to decorate our new dining room. I’ve been looking at Pinterest tablescapes for years and couldn’t wait to create one of my own.
For our wedding, I registered for Christmas Spode. My mom always used it at Christmas, and I had to have some of my own to keep the tradition alive. For my tablescape, I took the Christmas tree theme from my china, and brought it to life.
Check out my DIY Christmas Tree Place Cards here.
I found some adorable ceramic Christmas trees that looked almost exactly like the ones on my Spode. My Crate and Barrel placemats have a gold border that matches the rim on my wine glasses. And I added a cute little bird cage with a friendly red robin to top it all off.
The creme de la creme are these adorable silverware napkin folds. They are so simple and inexpensive to create, but really give your table a little something extra. I used white napkins, but you can use any color you want.
First I folded them into triangles and placed my knife, fork and spoon in the middle. I folded each side inward twice so I had a little package. Then I placed a piece of garland on top and tied a piece of red and white yarn around the whole thing to keep it together. I just used a simple knot to keep it in place.
Next, I put a small ornament on each string coming off the knot. I purchased these precious little Sugar Paper ornaments from Target. Finally I tied a bow with the two strings. Pro tip–if you tie the bow with the left loop first it’s perfectly straight. You know the “bunny ears?” Start with the left “ear,” loop around, and pull tight.
TA-DA! Perfect for a Christmas tree tablescape.
PSA: in case you haven’t heard, all Christmas decor at Michael’s and Hobby Lobby is 50% off and has been for awhile. I got all of my garland for my mantle and banister for $2. Also, the Christmas trees on my table, the red bird, and the cage are all from Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby also has tons of picks and fillers to fill your tree and garland. See below lol…
I’m also, of course, a huge fan of Target and Home Goods for Christmas decor.
Don’t discount Lowe’s and Home Depot either. They are the best for those things you don’t think about, like extension cords and spare lights for when one of yours goes out. OR if you need a giant inflatable fish taco truck for your yard. I don’t have one of those, but seriously considered it last night.
I just love Christmas, don’t you?
What do you think of my Christmas tree tablescape? Where is your favorite place to shop for Christmas decor?

I love how you decorated your table! We don’t have a very big table in our dining room, so I don’t do much with it but if I did I would do it similar to yours!
