I was so depressed about taking down my Christmas decorations that I turned Monday into a “get things done” marathon. I went a little crazy making our apartment homey…
One of my goals for 2017 is to decorate my apartment, but I don’t think the intent was to do the entire thing in one day. I’m pretty sure Stephen wanted me to “power down” around 11:30.
While I didn’t accomplish everything on my list, but I did manage to create this super cute winter centerpiece. It’s not Christmas but still has a winterish feel.
We received this marble and glass cheese dome as a wedding present and I’m totally obsessed with it. It currently is holding candles and not cheese, but I just love the elegance it adds to my table. I put it on top of this lazy susan that we also got as a wedding present.
I stopped by Hobby Lobby and got three white candles in various sizes. Then I took a trip to their floral department (they’re having a sale right now, by the way!) and picked up fake moss, cotton, and pinecones. After arranging them on the marble platter, I made sure the dome fit over all my items then used the extra on the surrounding surface.
I paired my centerpiece with some cool tones for winter. I just love using wedding presents can you tell?
Then this was the finished product:
Not Christmas, but less painful than having a totally empty, Spode-less table.
How are you recovering during this post-Christmas period? What new decor are you adding to your home?
This is so gorgeous and elegant! Love an amazing DIY
Thank you so much!
What an elegant set up! I love it!

Thank you!
That is truly gorgeous! I wish I had something like that, I have absolutely nothing on my table right now and I’m stuck for ideas, but I might try to make something like this now, hopefully it’ll look at least half as nice as yours
Thank you! It was VERY easy.
Love it! It looks great, and is a good transitional decoration. Using wedding presents is the best!
Thank you! It really is. It’s so nice to finally have matching and nice things. I still had everything I was using in college.
How pretty!!! I am not ready to take down all of my decorations from the holidays. This gives me some inspiration for some winter decorations.
I wasn’t either, but if I didn’t this weekend I wouldn’t have them down until February haha!
That turned out really pretty! I like the combo of the white candles with the pinecones!
Thank you so much!
Your table is too cute! We don’t even have a dining room table right now but if we did I’d sure decorate it lmao.
We only have the one table, lol! I just try to make it pretty. #SmallApartmentLife
Wow, this is so cool – literally. Absolutely wintery. Plus a grand and festive decor. Feels like an extended Christmas – who wouldn’t love to feel the festivity continuing?
Haha thank you! 🙂
