It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Christmas time is officially here! The stores are packed, the trees are up, and your tacky neighbor has covered his yard in blow up reindeer and haphazard lights. We are in full-blown Christmas mode.

So what’s on your ta-da list this season?

Here’s mine:

Decorate Tacky Sweater cookies: 

My family has a new-ish tradition (it’s only a few years old), but every year we decorate tacky sweater cookies! This weekend, Stephen, Molly, Mimo and I packed up and went to my parents house to meet my sister, and the annual bake off commenced. We have gotten pretty good at the decorating if I do say so myself. Plus, it was so fun having Stephen join us for his first tacky sweater cookies.

Buy new ornaments: 

Stephen and I decided we will each get one new ornament a year that we pick out to put on our tree. Of course, we have our gold and red balls, our ornaments from places we visit and our lovely ornaments passed down from family and friends (this is a great wedding gift, in case you were wondering!) Our tree would be very bare if we only added two ornaments every year. However, we have decided we will pick out one ornament a year around Christmas time that is just ours! I, of course, picked this one lol! It is an exact replica of my ring except for, you know, 100x bigger and faker.

Decorate:

I love decorating for Christmas! It’s even more fun after a wedding when you have lots of fun Christmas gifts. It’s my favorite time of year in our little apartment. Christmas decor really makes the whole place feel like home.

Make fun drinks: 

Last year, it was apple pie moonshine and cranberry ginger ale (which became the signature drink at our wedding!), this year it’s peppermint moonshine and egg nog. We thought we were particularly brilliant for coming up with this concoction last night. It’s really good!
