Oh my goodness! It’s one of my favorite holidays of the year. I love 4th of July, It’s up there with Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Usually I spend the weekend at the Braves game, but this year they aren’t in town.
We’re kicking off the weekend with a trip tonight to Skyline Park on Ponce City Market….possibly. It’s been rumored to open today, but it’s kind of like fight club. Nobody really knows what’s going on, but we’re all very excited about it. It’s literally an amusement park on the roof of Ponce City Market. It has games like skee-ball and the horse derby (all the ones you expect to see at a carnival), putt putt golf, booze, rides, and most importantly – the walking taco. This is an open bag of Fritos with sour cream, lettuce, beef, cheese, etc, dumped in and you walk around and eat it with a fork. I really need this to open today. Cross your fingers Atlanta.
Then tomorrow, we’re heading to Helen, Ga. with my future in-laws for a weekend away. I love Helen and not only because we have the same name. I just think it is the cutest little town. Since it’s 4th of July weekend, I have to represent, so here’s what I’m bringing.
