One of my favorite parts about living in Atlanta is the food! We have a great selection of restaurants in all styles and genres. We even have incredible restaurants on wheels. I love to find little nuggets of food gold throughout the city and this weekend I found a real gem.
To be fair…I guess I didn’t really find it, because it is less than a minute from my house. I can actually walk here. I pass it every day on my way to work and every day say, “I have got to try that place.” You see my favorite food in the whole world is sandwiches. It’s not something I would choose to make for myself at my house, but I always want one made by someone else. Just call me Joey Tribbiani…
Dave’s Cosmic Subs takes the cake in terms of Atlanta Sub Shops. Located in Emory Village, they have an incredible selection of meat and cheesy goodness. Not to mention some kind of special Dave’s Sauce that has my mouth watering as I write this.
I had the club–turkey, bacon, ham, lettuce, tomato, Dave’s Sauce all encased in a delicious sub roll by a giant helping of swiss cheese. Stephen had the chicken cordon bleu which he ate before he let me take a picture getting himself fired as my dinner date from now on.
Of course after I ordered, I saw the special for the Crabby Dave which is a crab cake sub. I guess I will just have to make a trip back this week. It’s ok, I already see myself becoming a regular.
This is without a doubt one of the best subs I have ever had. It’s the perfect serving size where you’re full but not to the point where you can’t move. It’s the perfect balance of meat, veggies, cheese, and sauce. I was legitimately sad when I took my last bite.
If you’re not in Atlanta but in Ohio, California, or Texas, you’re in luck! There is a Dave’s near you too…and they cater.
Check em out.

Do you have a favorite sub shop in your city?
Yeah, they started in Ohio where I live love tjhem
Now I'm drooling, too, looking at this…
Yum! I love BIG cheesy sandwiches
I love sandwiches as much as Joey, too. How can you go wrong with cheese and bread?! This looks great!
sandwiches always taste better when someone else makes them 🙂
I wish I had a local place that I liked to go to. We have Taylor Gourmet in the city which takes the cake for sub bread, but the filling is just "eh"
