So this weekend I hosted a Monograms and Mimosas wedding shower for my longtime friend getting married in June. The Mimosa Bar was second in line to the Barbie wedding cake, but still a big hit.
It was incredibly easy and so so fun!
You will need:
-Champagne Flutes
-Tester Cups (Optional)
-Print out of instructions (I found mine here)
-Frames for your print outs
-Champagne
-Five different types of juices
-Fruit
-Fun stirrers
-Colored sugar for the rims
-Labels for your juice
Before the party: Frame any printables and make sure they stand up! Everything looks classier in a frame… Also go ahead and cut any fruit you need so you save time, and refridgerate your champagne and juices.
Set up: I started with the champagne flutes and sugar coated the rims in pink sugar. (We had a Barbie wedding cake, of course we had to have pink rims.) To do this you simply wet the rim with water and then flip it over onto a plate of sugar. The sugar will stick to the water and harden.
After that, set up your tester cups. These are for the guests that are not willing to commit to their drink yet and want to do some sampling OR for the guests that have several parties in one day (like I did) and will be doing a lot of driving. I bought 5 oz monogrammed cups online and they worked perfectly.
Your instructions should come next so the guests understand what to do. Followed by the champagne. I bought 5 bottles and we put them in the sink filled with ice.
Immediately following was the juice selection. I chose; orange juice, white cranberry peach, white cranberry strawberry, cran-lemonade, and ruby red grapefruit. I poured the juice into the little pitchers and borrowed some place card holders and flower stickers from my mom. I cut squares out of pretty paper and wrote the names of the juices so that the guests knew what they were getting into.
Finally, I placed the fruit and the stirrers. I chose pineapple, raspberries, strawberries, and grapefruit. and placed them on a long tray.
It was super simple and a big hit… and because I keep talking about it, let’s check out the Barbie cake.
This cake is definitely a must-have when I get married….
