You know those things in life that you get so excited about and they just fall flat? Jamaica was nothing like that.
Jamaica exceeded any expectation I could have ever imagined. The whole trip was perfect.
Get ready for more pictures than you ever asked for…
For starters, it was 86 and sunny the entire time we were there. We had a little sprinkle in the mornings but it was over after a few minutes and then the sun came out for the rest of the day.
I won this trip on the radio, so on top of being in the gorgeous, weather everything was free! Air fare, food, bar tabs, excursions, you name it! Seriously, there is nothing more incredible than checking in and having this on your paper work.
I was worried that this meant water and peanuts because we won the trip, but I was SO wrong. Our resort had incredible restaurants, and we were allowed to eat at all of them. The first night we were there, the resort hosted a dinner under the stars and we had a five course dinner overlooking the beach.
Breakfast was my favorite. I always made sure we were up and moving in time for breakfast.
Side note: I discovered eggs benedict with salmon…
…and jerk chicken calzones.
I also gained 9 pounds while I was there. I’m not even sorry.
I had a drink in my hand the entire time. Have you seen the episode of How I Met Your Mother where Lily has Linus the bartender on standby to always make sure she has full drink in her hand before her previous drink is empty? This was my weekend. Only I didn’t pay for it.
And my bartender’s name wasn’t Linus, it was Tevin.
He introduced us to rum and Tings, took us clubbing, and danced better than Michael Jackson. The people of Jamaica are the friendliest, most fun people I have ever had the privilege of coming with contact with. Every person I met was loving life and dancing everywhere they went.
My company didn’t stink either!
And even though we had to leave nirvana, we brought home a little piece of heaven.
Oh and this guy for my fridge. Because, why not? I sing Bob Marley to him when I open the door.
Have you ever had a trip that was even better than you could have ever imagined?
