To make these, add icing the the back of a Nilla wafer. Place a second cookie on top allowing the front to be open while the backs are touching. Add candy eyes or pearls to the icing.

You can make these in lots of colors. I was feeling pink, but blue or purple is totally on theme for a mermaid party or a "let's shell-a-brate" party!

Quick Calorie Reference Guide: Fruits

I have been following the 400 Calorie Fix carefully, going to the gym 4-5 days a week, and drinking lots of water.

The first question people ask me when I tell them I’m doing the 400 Calorie Fix is, “Wait, you only eat 400 calories a day?”

Ok, no. I would be dead and super duper hangry (hungry + angry).

The 400 Calorie Fix is a diet plan where you eat 400 calorie meals at a time. If you eat three 400 calorie meals a day, then you are in your 1200 calorie target goal. If you exercise, then you lose weight. I’m never hungry, and the weight is coming off.

The only downside to this diet is how annoying I’ve become to those around me by mentally counting calories all the time. I know how many calories are in something before I eat it…I’ve become like a calorie dictionary.

Today, as part of a new series I am doing, I made this little quick reference guide for the calories in fruits. We don’t realize that fruits have calories and maybe throwing that extra banana into our morning smoothie may not be the best plan.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for quick calorie reference guides for veggies, carbs, junk food, dairy, etc.

What’s your favorite fruit?

Congrats on surpassing your goal!! Jamaica is going to be a blast. I've never actually been, but I already have a trip booked there my brother's wedding next year. I'm a citrus girl. I love oranges, grapefruit, and I'm always sipping on warm lemon water. My smoothies are usually blueberry and banana. Thanks for the breakdown!
